My opinion is that it is a 5 star review this book is kind blowing

I am so glad they added the ending where mama bear talks about how there's nothing wrong with the tv, just how you use it。 I was afraid it was going to be another anti-screens book- pleasantly surprised! I’ve loved the Berenstain Bears since I was a child。 This book is heartfelt, funny, and has a great message。 The message is to get active, spend time with your family, & enjoy nature。

I love how relevant this still is。 Now it is just "screens" that are a problem but same principles。 I love how relevant this still is。 Now it is just "screens" that are a problem but same principles。 。。。more

Mama Bear decides that her family is watching too much television, and puts her foot down, and says no tv for a week。 Although she gets a little push back, but with no tv, the family soon finds other activities to keep them busy, and soon discover all that they have been missing out on by watching too much tv。

Daughter loves this bookDaughter loves this book。 By far her favorite Berenstein bears。 Most nights can’t go to sleep without reading it。 We also implemented this in our house for a whole week and her at three years old understood exactly what we were doing。

This book was published in 1984。 Damn, has it really been 35 years? I read this as a kid in the 90's, and I remember my own parents complaining that I and my siblings watched too much TV (or played too much video games, ha!) and how things were different back in their day。。。 blah blah blah。This book, despite its age, certainly is as relevant as ever today, even if some might scoff at it。 This book was published in 1984。 Damn, has it really been 35 years? Shout out to Papa for still just loving television, no matter what his nagging wife says。

I had so much fun reading aloud this book to my Grade 1 students at the beginning of this year。 Using the theme of this book, we created our own resolutions that would help us make the most of our lives and use technology mindfully。

My special needs son was able to apply this to his video game use。 I call it a win。 A great reminder that there is more to life than a screen, of any type。

I love Berenstain Bears book。 This one taught me that why I shouldn’t watch too much tv。This is a story about a bear family which has 4 members - papa, mummy, brother and younger sister。 Mommy bear notices that cubs are watching too much TV。 It started when papa bear bought a new colour TV set。 So mommy bear decides to take some action and she announces “NO TV FOR A WEEK”。First the cubs find it's difficult, but then they start enjoying doing other things like making arts and craft, riding bikes I love Berenstain Bears book。 This one taught me that why I shouldn’t watch too much tv。This is a story about a bear family which has 4 members - papa, mummy, brother and younger sister。 Mommy bear notices that cubs are watching too much TV。 It started when papa bear bought a new colour TV set。 So mommy bear decides to take some action and she announces “NO TV FOR A WEEK”。First the cubs find it's difficult, but then they start enjoying doing other things like making arts and craft, riding bikes and playing outdoor。 Papa bear starts sneaking to watch TV which is funny。It’s a very nice book and I recommend all 6 years old to read this one。 。。。more

Somewhere in this story is a load of painful irony for parents reading a book written three and a half decades ago for children, which is still very relevant today。 Although it is another fun and great read from the Berenstains, it is also a bit sobering。 Netflix。 Smart phones。 Video games (Fortnite for starters)。 The addictiveness of video screens in any format has only increased since the 1980s。 And the battle for parents to keep their kids from turning into zombies is not only fiercer, but no Somewhere in this story is a load of painful irony for parents reading a book written three and a half decades ago for children, which is still very relevant today。 Although it is another fun and great read from the Berenstains, it is also a bit sobering。 Netflix。 Smart phones。 Video games (Fortnite for starters)。 The addictiveness of video screens in any format has only increased since the 1980s。 And the battle for parents to keep their kids from turning into zombies is not only fiercer, but now they have to win the battle for themselves too。 Because it is not only kids that are becoming detached form society now, but adults as well。 The screens are allowing us to interact only cursorily with real people, often while we are still have ear phones on/in and have our head bent down over our phones。 Having a front row seat to high school students and see the constant barrage of video game and music input and overload is daunting。 The ability to function without being plugged into some form of entertainment is quickly receding from our country。 Without going on to much more, if you are concerned at all about this for your kids, Too Much TV is a place to start which I highly recommend。 。。。more
